Karen Dietrich
Special guest
Karen Dietrich is the fantastic lady drummer of Pittsburgh-based indie rock band Essential Machine. Not only is she a woman drummer, but she is a mom to one of the band members, as Essential Machine is comprised of herself, her husband RJ, her son Robert, and her neighbor Matthew. Karen is also a creative writer, having published a memoir and multiple chap books of poetry. She finds interesting ways to dovetail differing aspects of her creative passions, even incorporating her entire family in the mix. Make sure to check out her carefully curated Spotify playlist of tunes!
