Country singer-songwriter Molly Alphabet joins Petticoat Rule to talk about her experiences as a woman playing Western music in the North. We hear about Groundhog Day, writing for film, growing up in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of East Lawrenceville, collaboration with her musician husband Chet Vincent, her songwriting and musical development habits, and her amazing gig outfits. Don't miss out on her Spotify playlist, and the awesome intro-outro songs we crafted together!!
SPOTIFY: The Molly Alphabet Playlist
CREDITS:
Intro/Outro Tunes created in collaborative segment with Molly, Erika, and Tara using a Korg Kaossilator Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer.
This project supported in part by a Seed Award from The Sprout Fund.
The producers would like to thank The River's Edge for providing the use of their studio space and equipment in the making of this episode.
==================================
!! SPECIAL THANKS FOR THIS EPISODE !!
During the recording of this episode, a very large fire broke out from which we barely escaped! Therefore, the producers would also like to thank the firefighters, especially those from the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department (Station 191). They saved the building as best they could, as well as the equipment inside the studio. Without them, this episode would not exist!
We also want to thank fellow musician and computer whiz Matt Siegler for salvaging our corrupted mp4 file, and Frederico Ponchio, author of the coding tool untrunc that Matt used for the salvaging. Without these people, this episode would be incomplete!
Special Guest: Molly Alphabet.
